On 20 July 2024, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed the New Government Procurement Act (NGPA). This new piece of legislation seeks to address the most pressing challenges in the 21-year-old government procurement act. According to the Government Procurement Policy Board, the NGPA is a significant milestone towards a more efficient, transparent, and sustainable government procurement, aimed to eradicate any form of illicit practices, resulting to better delivery of services from opening of bids to the awarding of contract.
In our upcoming committee meeting, we will open the discussion for new public-private opportunities for the German business community. This event will cover the key aspects of the NGPA and provide insights into how it will transform government procurement processes. Attendees will learn about the enhanced modalities and qualifications for achieving better value, the benefits of modernized procurement practices in the Philippines, and the impact of increased transparency and accountability. This event is an excellent opportunity to explore how businesses can leverage the new regulations for competitive advantage and contribute to more sustainable and efficient procurement practices.
