This session looks at what we mean by good governance in the social housing sector. The session fleshes out the expectations of the Regulator of Social Housing in relation to governance and also the National Housing Federation's Code of Governance 2020, as well as the other governance codes adopted by registered providers. The session also covers the characteristics of effective Board meetings.

The workshop will be led by Mick, who brings extensive experience in the social housing sector. Mick's background includes auditing, followed by key roles with the Housing Corporation, Tenant Services Authority, and Homes and Communities Agency. He spent several years in Executive Team roles with the Regulator of Social Housing until 2020, he spends his working weeks now working with registered providers on financial viability, governance, risk, assurance, and regulatory compliance"
