Event Details
The Atlanta Business League (ABL) has long honored business owners, professionals, and community and civic leaders in metropolitan Atlanta. A prime example is the ABL's annual list of Atlanta's Influential Black Men, celebrated during an evening reception and induction ceremony.
The Men of Influence Reception & Induction Ceremony was created to give public recognition to Black men who are professionals in various industries. It has evolved into a showcase of African American excellence, and a way for the honorees to interact with each other, while basking in the atmosphere of being among like-minded peers.
This event boasts three award categories:
MEN OF INFLUENCE AWARD recognizes business owners, professionals, community, and civic leaders in metropolitan Atlanta. This list reflects the names of Black men who have reached senior-level positions within their profession, are leading entrepreneurs in their industry, have proven history-making feats, or have attained the ability to influence large public bodies politically and in government
LEGENDS HALL OF FAME AWARD recognizes male pioneers who have paved the way for others to follow in their respective arenas. This list is a Who's Who of innovators whose extraordinary achievements are nothing short of history-making.
LEGACY AWARD is presented posthumously to a "legend" whose efforts, good deeds, and impact will outlast the test of time and will positively impact the community for generations to come.

Honorary Chair
Monique Richard
At a Company that takes pride with a reputation as the airline with heart, Monique Richard currently serves as the Atlanta Regional Director for Southwest Airlines.
Monique began her Southwest journey in1995 as a Customer Service Agentin Oakland, CA. During her tenure, she has held numerous operational leadership roles at the airport including supervisor, manager and assistant station manager, and most recent as the General Manager in Atlanta. As the Regional Director she supports eight airport operations in the southeast and Midwest. She is focused on maintaining Southwest's famous rich history, legendary Customer Service and strong Company Culture.
Monique supports the Atlanta Region celebrating diversity, equity and inclusion. She was inducted into the National African American Women's Leadership Institute in 2013 and also served on the Atlanta Chamber Board of Directors. Sheserved as Chair for the Northside Carriers at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport from2019-2022.
Monique earned her Bachelor's degree at California State University, Northridge and in 2019, she received a degree from The University of Texas at Austin School of Design and Creative Technologies. In her free time, Monique enjoys traveling and spending time with her two sons, two beautiful granddaughters, and two playful pups.
