Event Details

Inspired by the Surgeon General's recent report highlighting the critical need for social inclusion, the 2024 MACDDS Annual Conference is set to be a landmark event. This year, we are PLANTING THE SEEDS OF CHANGE by focusing on the themes of Community, Connection, Health, Knowledge, Policy, and Technology, each designed to address the evolving needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and those who support them. More than 400 professionals, board members,and individuals with disabilities and their families are expected to attend.


Interactive Workshops: Participate in engaging, hands-on sessions that address these key areas, offering practical solutions and innovative ideas.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with a diverse group of professionals, advocates, and families. Share experiences, build valuable relationships, and collaborate on new initiatives.

    Outline duties of the board
    Define information that the board needs to be effective
    Outline how to set expectations for the board and the Executive Director
    Discuss developing and maintaining a good working relationship between the board and the ED
    Define board management vs. board governance
    Discuss bringing the mission to life: vision, values and strategic planning

    The session is intended for Executive Directors, agency leadership, and nonprofit board members. This session is limited to the ED and one other person from the organization.
