2024 Regulatory Summit

The 2024 Regulatory Summit will take place August 7-8 at The Conference Center at Guilford Technical Community College in Colfax, North Carolina. The event will provide valuable insight on topics such as compliance requirements of the new mandatory stability standard, updates on PFAS legislation, new product labeling guidance and more.

This year, the focus is on enforcement of new product safety and environmental regulations, making 2024 the year of Compliance: Where the Rubber Meets the Road. Don't miss the preeminent conference addressing the top regulatory and legislative challenges facing the home furnishings industry today!

Keynote presenter will be Peter Feldman​, a commissioner on the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission since October 2018. He is now serving a seven-year term that expires in October 2026. In keeping with the Summit's compliance theme, Feldman has been asked to address steps the CPSC is taking to enforce the new federal stability standard for clothing storage furniture.

Additional topics on the Summit agenda include preparing for a CPSC compliance audit, the future of formaldehyde regulations, a Prop 65 refresher on the furniture safe harbor, how to complete your GCC, a case study highlighting the effectiveness of AHFA advocacy, new testing for PFAS, insights to the EPA's PFAS reporting rule … and what's next on the PFAS horizon.

Building on last year's successful break-out session format, both days of the Summit program include opportunities for a deeper dive into focused topics, among them proposed revisions to the tip restraint standard, an update on the proposed new recliner safety standard, environmental regulations impacting packaging, and avoiding delays and penalties under the Uyhgur Forced Labor Prevention Act.

The in-person registration deadline for the 2024 Regulatory Summit is Wednesday, July 31, at 5:00 PM. Registration cancellations in-person attendance will not be accepted after July 31. The virtual registration deadline for the Summit is Monday, August 5 at 5:00 PM.
