Course Description: The Internal Auditing Standards for the Philippine Public Sector Standard 1210 Proficiency states that "Internal auditors must possess the knowledge, skills and other competencies needed to perform their individual responsibilities. The government auditors must possess or obtain the knowledge, skills, and other competencies needed to perform its responsibilities."

To enhance the competencies and technology-based audit techniques such as data analysis, this seminar-workshop on CAATs will ensure familiarity on selected computer softwares. To effectively and efficiently audit government programs and projects using systems, audit personnel needs to continually be refreshed on Computer Assisted Audit Tools for mastery.

Course Learning Objectives:

At the end of this course, the Public Sector Internal Auditors are able to:

  1. Apply with mastery the necessary knowledge, skills along data management to effectively and efficiently audit programs and projects requiring or utilizing data management software, including but not limited to remote data audits.
  2. Formulate value-adding recommendations that are based on data and information which were understood and analyzed through the use of computer assisted audit techniques.
