Also, Malaysian statistics indicate that the percentage of Internet Users in 2016 was 76.9%. Out of those 76.9%, more than 80% are online youth population. These are sophisticated consumers, eager to experience and learn about new solutions and innovations.
2 – Malaysia has a high Competitive Business Cost in SEA.
Malaysia offers lower office rental and competitive salaries, as well as available and affordable housing, amenities and infrastructures. Moreover, it is strategically located in the heart of South-East Asia, acting as a connection point to Asia.

Jesse Chooi Tze Kheong is an experienced professional in the ICT industry with a career spanning over 20 years in the areas of market research, industry analysis, technology funding and business development. At MDEC he works closely with the Business Development teams to target and close new investments for Malaysia’s Digital Economy. Prior to this, he headed IoT Strategy and Business Development at MDEC, where he developed the strategy and tactical execution for IoT Industry Development and Adoption. Prior to MDEC, he was attached with IBM, IDC and Nielsen.
Jesse holds an MBA from University of Dubuque, Iowa, USA and a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
