Event Details

One of the leading causes of joblessness in the Philippines are inadequate employment opportunities in the formal economy, limited labor market information, and insufficient academic development. Moreover, the lack of experience in authentic work environments are presented to be one of the least participated training modalities by young Filipinos.

Germany possesses an effective model of vocational training system and is adopted worldwide. The dual-training system combines both practical and theoretical training which will be performed in both the school and the enterprise. Graduates from this program easily found jobs in the highly competitive and sluggish job market, as they possessed relevant skill sets currently required by the job market.

GPCCI's Vocational Training and Policy and Advocacy Committees jointly organized a discussion entitled "Equipping the Filipino Workforce through Enterprise-Based Education and Training" to examine the current state of policies related to work-related education and training.
