Effective communication skills are essential to positive and productive relations. The notion of being assertive in our communication can get conflated with being overbearing. Instead, assertive communication is all about clear messaging. It is expressing thoughts, ideas, and intentions in a transparent, open, and direct manner. In this learning session, participants will build an awareness of their communication patterns and gain critical tools to communicate confidently in today's challenging workplace.
The first part introduces the importance and value of having a mindset for assertive communication. The second part of this training delves deeper into the topic and reveals strategies for handling difficult conversations and disagreements. The training will also help participants learn to use positive phrasing and assertively say no. The last section highlights proven language patterns in managing crucial conversations and ways to deliver assertive responses. It also further improves each participant's understanding of how to sharpen their skill set through workshop exercises.
