Course Content:
The course will discuss the recently issued BSP Circular No. 1076 dated 18 February 2020 which took effect on 11 March 2020 entitled Amendments to the Regulations on Disqualification and Watchlisting of Directors and Officers of Banks and QBs. The webinar will cover the following topics:
1. Corporate governance reforms of the BSP as well as the three lines of defense which details the expectation of the BSP in terms of propriety and integrity of the persons running the affairs of banks and quasi-banks. This will also explain how Circular 1076 serves to complement the governance reforms initiatives of the BSP.
2. Salient points of Circular No. 1076. This section discusses the key principles of the reform and the details of the amendments on the grounds for disqualification and watchlisting.
3. BSP Watchlist Files and the Reports on Crimes and Losses (RCL) Process. This presents the implication of the inclusion of a person's name in the BSP Watchlist Files as well as the process on how his/her name can be removed from the said list. This will also tackle the RCL which essentially becomes the document, among others, that will trigger the BSP disqualification procedure.
Target Participants:
As the issuance complements the corporate governance agenda of the BSP, we expect members of the board and senior management of banks and QBs to take part in this undertaking. We also encourage the participation of officers carrying out the control functions such as Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Audit, and human resource-related functions.
