Marla served as the Workplace Health and Safety Leader responsible for the well-being of 850,000 associates across 286+ sites in North America. Over her thirteen years at Alcoa, Inc., some of Marla’s accomplishments include implementing Touch Time Reduction KPIs in seven global sites, resulting in a 75% reduction in Lost Workdays, a 34% decrease in Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred incidents in 2013, and a 6% dip in the Total Recordable Rate, further improving to 3% in 2014. Additionally, she achieved a 56% reduction in landfill waste in 2013 and a 50% decrease in water use during the same year, resulting in $1.5 million in cost savings.
Marla holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Energy Management and Systems Technology from Purdue University, coupled with a Master's degree in Organizational Behavior from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.
