Parenting an ADHD child, teen or young adult can be a very challenging journey. Not knowing how to support them, feeling overwhelmed, regularly helpless and at a lost, are common emotions parents experience. It is also very common for ADHD children and teens to develop mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), amongst others.

SPARK has collaborated with Caregivers Alliance to bring you their flagship Caregivers-to-Caregivers Training Program (PMHI) especially for parents of ADHD children and teens, called C2C. This is the 4th year we are bringing an ADHD-focused C2C to parents.

C2C is a fully-funded 12-week course for caregivers of Persons with Mental Health Issues (PMHIs).

3 main learning areas will be:

  1. A better understanding of mental health issues including anxiety disorders, depression, psychosis etc.
  2. Improve problem-solving and communication skills.
  3. Learn coping strategies to journey with your ADHD child/teen in their mental health struggles.

The 12-week course will cover:

Holistic view of mental health and caregiving;

Mental health crisis intervention and management;

Mental health conditions;

The brain and medication;

Problem-solving framework;

Practicing empathy;

Effective communication;

Mental health recovery and resilience;

Mental health rehabilitation;

The importance of self-care;

Graduation.

Previous attendees have shared that they learnt a lot from this C2C Program. Being able to be part of a group where there is a shared experience of caring for ADHD, allows the sharing to be more relevant and applicable. Attendees also appreciated how experienced and passionate the trainers were on the topics. This joint C2C program between SPARK and CAL will only be run once a year, so do grab your spot quickly!

(Please note that a min number is required for this course to proceed. It will be run on Zoom.)
