We are delighted to invite you to a special roundtable meeting and networking event on the preparation for Lao's first ever digital census, taking place in 2025. Happening once per decade, the census consists of mapping the entire country, mobilising and training a large number of enumerators, compiling vast amounts of data in electronic forms, and analysing and disseminating data, requiring engagement and support from all sectors.
The event is hosted by UNFPA in conjunction with AustCham Lao, and delivers on our commitment to keep you up to date with data relevant to the private sector, such as the data obtained through the census. The objectives of the meeting are to share an update on the progress of the preparation for the census by the Lao Statistics Bureau, brainstorm together innovative contributions of the private sector to support the LSB and national census management team in the preparation of the census, and strengthen coordination and partnership between the private sector and the national census office.
At the event, you will hear a presentation from the LSB on the status of the census preparation, and a presentation from UNFPA on the census and the private sector. After the presentations, there will be a Q&A session to enable participants to ask questions and discuss.
