John lives in Austin, TX, and has a BBA in accounting and a JD from the University of Texas Law School. John’s leadership experience includes responsibilities for 1,000 employees, $400 million in revenues, 9 years of NASDAQ public reporting, complex supply chain logistics, development of 20+ private label consumer products, and real estate and intellectual property management in all 50 states and 18 foreign nations. A 2012 acquisition successfully converted cafeteria food wastes to jet fuel for DARPA at lab scale. John assembled and led an engineering team that successfully designed and constructed a demonstration-scale facility for methane arrested anaerobic digestion (MAAD) to convert biomass into short chain fatty acids (SCFA) and derivatives. This process is now featured by NREL for producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). John and the current BioXRG engineering team all have prior experience in plant development. This experience subsequently led the team to high-yield utilization of MAAD processes for conversion of food waste into bio-based fertilizers. John was previously a major real estate developer in the Austin, TX, area developing over 2,000 acres on Lake Austin and buildings in the CBD. The Downtown Austin Alliance awarded him its first Visionary Award. He was named an Ernst & Young Central Texas Retail Entrepreneur of the Year. He served as Treasurer for Ann Richard’s first statewide campaign and as Chair of the United Negro College Fund drive for Central Texas. He is a founding donor for the Austin Children’s Museum Dell Discovery Center, donated 30-acres on Lake Austin to found the Riverbend Church and several other philanthropic activities in Austin.
