ABASA Women Leading Conference | 30 August 2021 - 3 September 2021

The Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants of Southern Africa ("ABASA") in proud partnership with SAGE, Old Mutual and the South African Institute of Government Auditors ("SAIGA") will be hosting it's First Annual ABASA Women Leading Conference.

From 1 - 30 August every year, we pay tribute to the more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956 in protest against the extension of Pass Laws to women. A system meant to control women even further and reduce women to passive beings, at the mercy of men.

Women's month also serves as a time to pay tribute to the pioneers of women's movements in our country and as ABASA we celebrate the establishment of Women of ABASA in 2015 through the deliberate leadership of Tantaswa Fubu during her tenure as President of ABASA.

This Conference has been deliberately scheduled for the last week of August to cross over into the month of September to symbolize the need to recognize the immense contribution and leadership of women in our country beyond Women's month.
