Julie Boggess Certified Master Trainer, AGE-u-cate at Enlighten Eldercare Julie joins Age-u-cate with 31 years of experience in the Senior Housing and Healthcare Industry. Her exposure to persons with dementia came early in her career where she had the good fortune to work with and learn from the early pioneers of dementia care. She has worked in management level positions since 1990, most recently being 15 years as CEO at Bethesda Rehab and Senior Care in Chicago. During this time, she immersed herself in further education on dementia care through the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center in Chicago learning from leaders who were paving the way to person-centered dementia care. She has created two Adult Day Programs for persons with Dementia and has extensive experience counseling and educating families caring for loved ones with dementia. She has served on the Board of Directors for LeadingAge Illinois and chaired its Nursing Facilities cabinet and is an instructor in Gerontology and Leadership in Aging Services at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Julie has a B.S in Child and Family Studies from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, and Master’s degree in Public Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago. She lives in the Northwest Chicago suburb of Mount Prospect, Ill.
Jeannie Forrest, PhD., R.N. For over 30 years, she has focused her clinical practice, education, and research in the care of older adults with dementia; pain; palliative and end-of-life care. Held Board positions for the Illinois Hospice & Palliative Care Organization and Chicago End-of-Life Care Coalition. Provided consultations in China with the support of the World Health Organization. Author of journal articles and book chapters on pain and geriatric related issues. Collaborated with the Alzheimer’s Association studying outcomes of comfort focused care for residents with advanced dementia in nursing homes. Holds a Fellowship in the Institute of Medicine of Chicago. In addiction, she provides corporate consultation to small businesses assisting with team building, conflict resolution and on site crisis management.
Susan Robbins Regional Director of Dementia Training at Arbor Terrace Senior Communities Susan Robbins, Regional Director of Dementia Training Susan has worked in the long-term care field for over 25 years assisting men and women living with dementia in various community settings. She has worked for the Arbor Company for over 10 years, serving as an engagement director and dementia care specialist. In her current role as a Regional Director of Dementia Training, Susan coaches and trains employees on all thing’s dementia care related using the Arbor Company’s cognitive care training tools as well as her own experience. She teaches staff members tips for interacting with residents in different stages of dementia from holding meaningful conversations to delivering care through adapted approaches to how to respond in an emergency. Susan also provides education to families and the community at large in the Atlanta area. She is a certified Dementia Care Specialist through the Crisis Prevention Institute as well as a certified Dementia Live coach through Age-u-cate. Susan lives in Marietta, GA.

Her passion for the older adult population resulted in a specialty certification in geriatric social work from the National Association on Social Workers (NASW). Before working at Dutton Casey & Mesoloras, Erin served as the manager of a community and senior resource center for a hospital network and coordinated a variety of related programs. She has also served as an elder abuse investigator and long-term care ombudsman. She is also a certified care manager.
