Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a set of principles for business offering guidance on how to empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. They were developed by UN Women and UN Global Compact in 2010. In Indonesia, however, the awareness of empowerment of women in business is still low.

In order to raise awareness and promote corporates commitment to implement WEPs, as well as address issues and concerns of practical business, Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN), UN Women and Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE) establish a working group named 'Women's Empowerment Working Group' (WEPWG).

WEPWG will conduct a workshop for business sectors to assess their current situation and to develop an action plan for WEPs implementation as well as to monitor progress, and dialogue to share and learn about good practices and challenges in promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women in their workplace, marketplace and community.
