The Executive Consequence Management (ECM®) is a senior leadership level program designed to enhance the way in which leaders across Government and the Private Sector consider the consequences of crises and how they are managed. This Nationally recognised program further assists organisations to gain a better appreciation of the value of consequence thinking, collaboration, and the force multiplier effect of leveraging each other's strengths and abilities.

The ECM® was designed and implemented by Barrington Centre in collaboration with Emergency and Disaster Management leaders, as a direct response to findings of the Royal Commission into the 2009 Victorian Black Saturday Bushfires. Since 2012, more than 2,000 Delegates have participated in the program, across Local Government agencies, State and Territory government agencies, the Australian Government, critical infrastructure providers, and private sector operators.

This has led to diverse participation from organisations across health, education, environment, critical infrastructure, policing, emergency services/management, government administration, transport, community services and local government to mention a few.

This one-of-a-kind program is an essential enabler to achieving better organisational crisis management performance, better community safety outcomes, and more broadly a more resilient society, as the need for effective consequence management has become essential in navigating the complexities of modern crises and ensuring safety and security for communities.
