RESCHEDULED

Join us for our special webinar for Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month where our guest speakers from Friends, Families and Travellers will be talking about GRT issues and some of the fascinating insights from their report "Kicking the can down the road: The planning and provision of Gypsy and Traveller sites in England 1960-2023".

Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT) are a leading national charity who work to end racism and discrimination against Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller people and to protect the right to pursue a nomadic way of life.

Joining us from FFT for the session will be Training Officer James O'Neill, GRT activist Chris Penfold-Brown, and Barry Winchester, Co-ordinator of the Oak Project.

This session will:

  • Explore the rich histories and diverse cultures of Gypsy, Roma, & Traveller communities
  • Look at statistics on education, health, hate crime and discrimination.
  • Explore issues raised in FFT's 'Kicking the can down the road' report.
  • Examine common barriers faced by Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller individuals when in contact with accommodation providers and other services.
  • Highlight practical solutions to these barriers and offer 'best practice' examples.
  • Include a Question & Answer section
