Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara is the Undersecretary of the Department of Energy (DOE), supervising the Renewable Energy Management Bureau and Electric Power Industry Management Bureau, She is seconded from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute of the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she is professor XII. Dr. Guevara Previously served as President and CEO of the National Transmission Corporation and as Undersecretary for Research and Development of the department of Science and Technology (DOST). She led the DOST Science for Change Program (S4CP) that democratize R&D in the country. S$CP received the United Nations Public Service Award in 2022. Her government service spans over 37 years, including the Deanship of the UP College of Engineering from 2004 to 2010. She received several awards in engineering, education and public service, including the 2010 Metrobank Outstanding Teachers of the Philippines and the 2018 Gawad Career Executive Presidential Award.
