Event Details
First person view (FPV) drones use a camera linked to a set of video goggles to provide an immersive onboard view, allowing pilots unique freedom and perspective. Unlike conventional photography and video drones, FPV freestyle and racing drones are manually controlled. The direct connection with control and feedback provides a flight experience like no other.
This workshop will cover everything you need to know to get off the ground!
Part buyer's guide and part flight instruction, participants will get hands-on time with real FPV equipment and some flight experience in a simulator. We'll focus on small indoor drones—which are safe for kids and a perfect starting point for anyone—but discuss faster and more powerful outdoor machines as well.
One of the most fun and exciting ways to enjoy flight with a community is through racing, including right here at Generator. Our informal race events give pilots a chance to practice skills, ask questions, and learn from each other. We'll cover what to expect at a race event so you'll be ready to join us right away. All skill levels are welcome at local races.
This workshop is appropriate for children (accompanied by an adult) who are able to focus on learning new skills that might not come naturally at first.
