Land use and land ownership has been a contentious and emotive matter for many in Africa. Back home, decades after independence, land grabbing and irregular land allocation is commonplace in Kenya and the ghosts of poor land management systems continue to haunt us. In a country where over 80% of the population rely on agriculture, land is not only our soul livelihood source but also the subject of great emotional attachment.
However, it is not all gloom and doom because it is such issues that led to a clamor for land reforms and it is against the backdrop for proper land management and utilization that Ardhi Sasa was formed. The Ministry of Land and Physical Planning (MoLPP) and the National Land Commission officially launched the platform in April 2021- the new digitized land record system that is meant to curb historical land injustices like fraud, forgery of land documents among others.
The digitized platform will allow Kenyans and other interested parties to access land information and processes undertaken by the Kenyan government. At the click of a button, you can carry out all land transactions at the comfort of your own home!
Join us on 21st June 2022 at Radisson Blu Hotel- Upperhill Nairobi for a CEO'S Breakfast Forum as we unpack and demystify the new baby of land reforms in Kenya through insightful discussions from key officials from the Lands Ministry and the Ardhi Sasa team.
We look forward to seeing you there!
