Thursday, May 11th we will be hearing from Derek Campbell. Derek is an industrial hygienist and compliance officer for the Toledo Area OSHA office. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Heidelberg College, and went on to get a Master of Public Health degree through the University of Toledo. Derek has been with OSHA for a little over ten years where he has conducted both safety and health inspections in a variety of industries and hazards including combustible dust.

His presentation will cover the basic background of what is combustible dust and the common industries that handle combustible dust. We will discuss some prevention and control measures that can be taken. The presentation will wrap up by walking through a typical combustible dust inspection under OSHA's National Emphasis program for combustible dust with examples of citations and pictures.
