About PERFORMING FILIPINA:

PERFORMING FILIPINA is a new "kind-of" musical by Lianah Sta. Ana, where six Filipinas piece together history, memory, and identity, finding new meaning in their relation to themselves, their communities, and each other. A show for Filipinas, by a Filipina, PERFORMING FILIPINA aims to empower our community and ground us in a foundation of care.

Why a Concept Album? Why now?

In releasing a concept album, we seek to engage Filipino audiences we may not have otherwise been able to reach by hosting listening parties, special events and discussions around the piece as opportunities to connect with Filipino communities, youth and students, and empower them to critically examine identity, memory, culture, and our peoples' resistance.
