Reliably storing clean energy, mainly from solar and wind in the Philippines, is an ongoing challenge and limits its use as backup power. Diesel generators are still the most common type of backup power system in the country. However, its costly maintenance and negative environmental impact are not sustainable in the future. Green hydrogen and fuel cell technology can present a clean and climate-friendly alternative. This is where Germany has the knowledge and technical expertise to share.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and in partnership with the German National Organization Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NOW GmbH), GPCCI is conducting a feasibility study to better understand the potential for green hydrogen and fuel cell technology in the Philippines.
During this 90-minute networking event, selected member companies of the German Clean Power Net Association will present relevant green hydrogen and fuel cell applications for urban areas. After a Q&A session, participants can interact with each company representative in separate breakout rooms for a more focused conversation.
