Through The Clouds: Beth White's Aviation Journey
Join us on Tuesday, April 8th to hear about Beth White's remarkable journey into aviation, sparked by the daring thought: "If Beryl Markham could fly solo across the Atlantic in the 1930s, why can't I?" We will hear how earning her pilot's license, meeting an unexpected 80-year old airplane mechanic, and surviving breast cancer led to a renewed life purpose: Fostering the next generation of aviators, builders, and innovators by providing hands-on opportunities in aviation.
Habitat for Aviation is a hands-on apprenticeship program based at Franklin County State Airport in Vermont, offering youth and adults the opportunity to learn and work alongside industry professionals in aviation. Their Women Build Planes program is an all-female, intergenerational team constructing a Rans S-21 airplane, demonstrating that women build, fly, and fix planes. By providing mentorship, skill-building, and career connections, they aim to inspire more women and gender-expansive individuals to pursue careers in the aviation industry.
During this event Beth will be joined by some of her fabulous Women Build Planes team membersโthe Modern Rosiesโthis Reckless Idea will leave folks feeling inspired and ready to take-off and elevate that which makes their own hearts sing.
