In 2015, under the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange (SSE) Initiative​, along with its partners, launched the annual event "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality​" in line with International Women's Day. These events are organized as a partnership by the SSE Initiative, together with the United Nations Global Compact (UN Global Compact​), The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women​), the International Finance Corporation (IFC​), Women in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs​) and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFEs​) to raise awareness about the opportunities for the private sector to advance gender equality and sustainable development.

Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN​), UN Women​, and Indonesia Business Coalition for Women Empowerment (IBCWE​) established a working group named 'Women's Empowerment Working Group' (WEP WG)​. This initiative is expected to focus on issues of business practice with multi-stakeholders in Indonesia.

Every year, "The Ring the Bell" campaign is held in various countries. In March 2018, "Ring the Bell" event in New York was succeeded by the participation of 65 stock exchanges across the globe. This year, aligned with International Women's Day, 'Women's Empowerment Working Group' will hold the "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event for the first time in Indonesia supported by Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX​) and International Finance Corporation (IFC​),
