Event Details

This 4-hour course includes classroom and hands-on training to prepare responders to conduct risk-based response to battery emergencies for multiple types of batteries, including Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion).


The course covers batteries found in transportation including passenger vehicles, ground transport, air and sea shipping, as well as residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

    Gary Sharp is the co-founder of Hazard3, a small business specializing in developing and delivering risk-based response training programs. Hazard3 training combines scientifically sound, street smart tactics, with easy to follow response guides. Gary develops training solutions that include on-site courses with hands-on, virtual instructor led training (VILT), and microlearning.     Previously Gary served as the Senior Director of Training and First Responders Solutions for a defense and homeland security contractor and as a career Deputy Fire Chief. He currently volunteers as the Program Manager for the Oakland County HazMat Team, a multi-agency joint police/fire team located North of Detroit, Michigan. Gary is a member of the NFPA Hazardous Materials Technical Committee and is addicted to Starbucks.
