Dr. Paula Musuva is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at United States International University - Africa, School of Science and Technology. With over 12 years of teaching experience, Paula has trained more than 2,500 students in various courses with a particular focus in specializations in Information Security, Systems Audit, Cybercrime, and Forensics. She has supervised 21 MSc graduate student theses and is currently supervising 4 PhD candidates. Paula spearheaded the development of the Master of Science in Information Security (MSEC) Program at USIU-Africa and has participated in enhancing the existing master's degree programs and bachelor’s IT and computer science programs through annual quality assessments and curriculum reviews.

Paula is also a co-founder of the Cyber Shujaa Program, where she also serves as the Curriculum and Training director. The Cyber Shujaa program focuses on empowering youth with both technical market-ready skills and essential soft skills for employability and professional growth in cybersecurity. This program, delivered by a consortium comprising Serianu Limited, United States International University - Africa (USIU-Africa), and the Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), receives support from the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE). The goal of Cyber Shujaa is to provide 2,000 decent jobs for Kenyan youth by the end of this year, with a commitment to gender equality, aiming for 50% female representation. Paula's role as Curriculum and Training Director involves developing and certifying courses, fostering the growth of Cyber Shujaa's brand through quality training, and producing certified professionals for various cybersecurity roles such as: security analysts, ethical hackers, cloud security specialists, network security engineers, and data protection officers. Through her leadership, the program has trained 2,149 individuals, drawn from over 80 universities and tertiary institutions across Kenya, with 1581 successfully placed in decent jobs translating to over 70% placement rate and a 50% women representation.

Furthermore, Paula has championed Information and Cyber Security research at the Centre for Informatics Research and Innovation (CIRI), resulting in a longstanding partnership with Serianu Limited, notable annual cybersecurity reports, research grants and collaborations with the SWIFT Institute for cyber security research. Paula is also engaged as a consultant for the Kenya ICT Action Network (KICTANet) which is a leading multi-stakeholder think tank for ICT policy and regulation. She has been instrumental in the establishment of the Tatua Digital Resilience Center and the delivery of a 5-chapter Cyber Hygiene Curriculum and promotional material for empowering digital citizens with practices to keep them safe online. She has also authored 18 publications in the form of journal articles and conference papers which have enabled her to provide thought leadership in key topics relating to governance, risk management, vulnerability analysis, cybersecurity awareness, cyber hygiene, information systems audit and digital forensics.

Paula holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Nairobi, having excelled throughout her academic journey, including earning a Distinction in the master’s in network systems from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom and receiving the Babaroa Trust Award for academic excellence during her BSc in Computer Science at JKUAT.

Lillian Ngala is a renowned HR Director currently serving as the Director of Human Resources at Diamond Trust Bank.

She sits on several boards including the Africa Human Resource Congress, Kenya Institute of Bankers, KeNIC and National Industrial Training Institute. She is also a member of the Editorial Board and African Representative of HR Today, a global HR publication.

In addition, she is the founder and CEO of Lillian Ngala Network, a vibrant community of leaders committed to empowering the next generation of leaders; and the Lillian Ngala Foundation, a non-profit that builds decent houses for widows, cares for persons with disabilities, runs youth mentorship initiatives and supports the education of children from underprivileged homes.

Ms. Ngala has an MBA from JKUAT and is certified as a professional trainer by the Institute of Human Resource Management. She has been credited with making considerable contributions to policy formulation, talent management, workforce planning, coaching and mentoring, and culture management among other HR agendas in Kenya.

This year, Lillian has been ranked by France-based platform Favikon as LinkedIn's most influential Kenyan in the HR industry, recognized as a Top 100 Career Woman in Africa by 9to5Chick and named Africa Top Leader of the Week by SeamlessHR. Last year, she was recognized by Disruptive People among the Top 20 Leaders in Kenya and was named Industry Icon of the Year 2023 by Corporate Career Academy. In 2022, she was on peopleHum’s list of the Top 50 Leaders Shaping the Future of HR in Africa. That was after she was recognized by the Nation Media Group as one of the Top 20 Women Making a Difference in Kenya in the year 2021.

Lillian is regularly featured on Citizen TV, Switch TV, KBC and Voice of America; and is a regular contributor to Daily Nation and Business Daily newspapers where she writes about leadership.

Over and above that, she has honoured invitations as a guest speaker in major conferences in the country and the region; including ISACA Conference 2023, ICX Conference 2023, AWFP Summit 2023 and 2022, the Industrial and Employee Relations Summit 2022, IHRM Conference 2022 and the KIM Women in Leadership Conference 2022 and 2021.

Lillian greatly values integrity, collaboration, communication and fairness; and is a champion for compassion, employee wellness, organization agility and the future of work. This is informed by her belief that “to win the marketplace, you must first win the workplace.”

Outside of work, she spends time hiking, reading, writing and playing golf.

Akofa Dakwa is a Banking and Finance Professional with over 18 years’ experience in the Banking industry. Her expertise includes strategy design and execution, enterprise risk management, treasury management, financial markets trading and operational resilience.

Akofa is currently the Deputy Managing Director at Bank of Africa Kenya Ltd.
She is also an Independent Non-Executive Director on the boards of Guinness Ghana Breweries Plc and Savvy Securities Ltd.

Akofa started her career journey in the year 2004, with Unilever Ghana Ltd, and worked for a year in their Supply Chain Division. She then moved on to pursue a career in Banking, as part of the pioneer team of Guaranty Trust Bank Ghana Ltd in 2005, where she worked for three years in Treasury and Risk Management roles.

Akofa joined the then Amalgamated Bank (now Bank of Africa) in 2008 where she held various roles, key among them as Chief Risk Officer and Head of Treasury. She has been credited with transforming the Treasury Department of the Bank into a key strategic business unit and contributed to the turnaround of the bank. She also has a strong reputation for developing high-performance teams.

Akofa is a Chartered Accountant (ACCA, UK), a Chartered Banker (CIB-Ghana), and a Certified Financial Risk Manager (GARP, USA). She also holds an MBA in Finance and Risk Management from the Business School Netherlands, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the Mountcrest University, Ghana and a B.Sc. Biochemistry degree from KNUST, Ghana.

Akofa is a member of the ACCA’s Global forum for Governance, Risk and Performance. She is also a member of the Executive Women Network, Ghana, where she contributes to advocacy and support for women executives and entrepreneurs in Ghana.

Faith is the CEO /Master Franchisee of Young Engineers Kenya, an educational program that provides theoretical knowledge and practical implementation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) basics. As a STEM enthusiast, Faith provides an environment that enables the next generation of innovators in Africa to acquire 21st century skills by creating critical thinkers, increasing science literacy and problem solving skills.

Prior to Young Engineers Kenya, She acquired a wealth of experience in General Management, Corporate finance, Commercial and Business Strategy, Business model generation, having spent over 15 years in leadership roles within the events, manufacturing & education sectors in East & South Africa.

Faith holds a Master in management (PDM) from the Wits Business School in Johannesburg. She also holds a Bachelor of commerce in Finance & Business administration from Daystar University in Kenya. She holds the Golden Key International Honor Award.

SUMMARY
• Olive is an internal audit, risk management and public financial management professional with over eighteen (18) years’ experience advising on, and implementing, effective internal controls, risk management practices and sound governance processes in private, and public sector institutions, in Kenya and across the African continent.
• Olive leads with versatility, and compassion through inspiration while building harmony with people in addition to being a future oriented visionary. Her great interpersonal and communication skills with polished problem-solving abilities and her strong belief in high ethical standards have exemplified her life experiences. She is a sustainability champion passionate about systems thinking as an enabler towards transformational impact.

CURRENT FOCUS
• At present, Olive is the Head of Internal Audit at the Kenya Mortgage Refinance Company (KMRC), which was established by the Government of Kenya (through the National Treasury and Economic Planning), nine (9) banks, eleven (11) SACCOs, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Shelter Afrique (ShAf DB), to promote sustainable home ownership in Kenya.
• As an ICPAK Council Member her role is critical in ensuring proper performance of the Institute by providing vision and policy direction as prescribed in the Accountants Act (No. 15 of 2008). Together with her Council colleagues, they are responsible for overseeing the operations of the Institute and ensuring delivery of value to its members, currently standing at over 35,000.

PAST EXPERIENCE
• Olive held successful tours of duty at the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) as a Senior Internal Auditor from 2007 to 2021 (14 years) and at the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) as a Revenue Officer from 2005 to 2007.
• Besides this, she has undertaken various assignments locally and across the continent: training on Risk Management and Internal Controls at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS), the Macroeconomic and Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI), headquartered in Zimbabwe that brings together ministries of finance and central banks from 14 African countries.

Veronica N. Rose, CISA, CDPSE, is IT Audit Manager at KPMG East Africa. She has vast experience in developing and executing risk-based IS audit programs and training various organizations on cybersecurity and data privacy. She has been instrumental in establishing collaborations among ISACA chapters across the globe. She’s a published author of the book BEING: Choosing to be at the Top Because the Bottom is Too Crowded and children’s books. She is the founder of Encrypt Africa, host of Experts Corner Podcast, ISACA Global Mentor, and a former topic leader for the SheLeadsTech ISACA Engage community (2020), and previously served as Director of Advocacy at the ISACA Kenya Chapter.

She holds a Master of Science in Information Systems and a Bachelor of Computer Science with Education from Ndejje University, as well as an IT Risk Fundamentals Certificate from ISACA. She is a silver member of ISACA and a Member of the National Association for Corporate Directors (NACD).
