Bruce Wade – Chief Judge: Speaker Factor Contest

Our Chief Judge for this year is Bruce Wade, professional member, past association president and a member of the Educators Hall of Fame. Bruce has been an integral part of Speaker Factor since its second year, having run the competition twice and being a judge and speaker coach on many occasions. Bruce has coached and worked with the winning speaker for the past 3 years.

Sophia Roman - Title: Amplifying Voices Through Anthologies and Storytelling

In the session we will explore the transformative power of curated collections—whether in magazines, book anthologies, or speaking engagements, diverse presentation in speaking competitions—to amplify diverse voices and connect with audiences on a deeper level. We will delve into the art of identifying themes that resonate, selecting compelling content that tells a cohesive story, and crafting impactful narratives that leave lasting impressions. Attendees will learn how to harness the potential of storytelling to educate, inspire, and create meaningful dialogue across cultures, industries, and communities. Perfect for writers, editors, publishers, and speakers looking to elevate their work and reach wider audiences.

Sophia is an accomplished Leadership and Alignment Coach, certified and experienced in helping individuals align their core values, beliefs, and decisions. Her approach is holistic, focusing on aligning the Head, Heart and Gut with the Spirit, Soul, and Body of her clients. Through this three-dimensional approach, she assists them in achieving congruency and fulfilment.

With over a decade of experience, Sophia has been facilitating coaching journeys since 2012. Her passion lies in guiding individuals toward personal growth and transformation. By honouring their values and boundaries, she enables them to live a life of significance. In addition to her Coaching and Mentoring expertise, Sophia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology and a Masters Degree in Management Coaching from Stellenbosch Business School in progress.

Her leadership positions are with the AOGA a faith based organisation where she serves for over a decade as the Western Cape Regional Director and as National President for the Women's Ministries.

Her role extends beyond Coaching and Mentoring, as she is a published Author, writer and a inspirational Speaker. Her life and Entrepreneurship is underpinned by her values and faith. Sophia has been writing courageous stories of hope for the last six years for a National Christian Magazine JOY. Her writing started with Vital Woman Lifestyle Magazine based in London and she is currently still writing for the for close to eight years. She is in the process of finalising her first self published Anthology. She is currently writing a chapter in two upcoming International Anthologies.
