USBC Black Chamber of Commerce Spotlight: Black Chamber of Commerce - Summit County
The Black Chamber of Commerce - Summit County, established in May 2024, serves the Midwest region, focusing on business development in Akron, Ohio. Led by President Robert Dejournett, their mission is to develop, empower, promote, and support Black-owned businesses, advocating for the interests of the Black business community and the broader community.
While currently building their membership base across various industries, the Black Chamber of Commerce - Summit County is unique in its grassroots funding approach. They've garnered significant community support, with 84 of their targeted 100 Founding Donors already contributing $1,000 each. They anticipate reaching their fundraising goal before their Inaugural Launch & Fundraiser Event.
A major recent milestone is the upcoming Launch Event. The chamber is actively working on developing impactful programs and services for its future members.
