The theme for World Immunization Week 2023 is "Vaccines bring us closer." The goal of this year's campaign is to highlight the importance of vaccination in bringing people together and helping to build healthier communities.
One important aspect of immunization that is often overlooked is adult immunization. While childhood immunization is widely recognized as essential to prevent infectious diseases, it is equally important to keep up with vaccinations throughout adulthood.
Many adults believe that once they've been vaccinated as children, they are protected for life. However, some vaccines require booster doses to maintain immunity, and new vaccines may become available as new diseases emerge or new research is conducted.
Adults who are at higher risk for certain diseases, such as healthcare workers or those with certain medical conditions, may also need additional vaccinations.
Immunizing adults not only protects them from getting sick but also helps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases to others who may be more vulnerable, such as children, the elderly, or people with weakened immune systems., titles and texts to your page
