The reception, documentary showing and conversation with Professor Carlos Gonzalez Garcia will be held on April 22 at 5:30 pm at Park Central's Goldwater Conference Center sponsored by Plaza Companies. Attendees will be treated to appetizers and beverages.

    Originally from Mexico City, Carlos is a filmmaker with a career enriched by over 30 years of experience as a professional documentarian. He pursued his studies in filmmaking at UNAM-ENAC (CUEC) and earned a master's degree in film directing through the Fulbright García Robles scholarship at Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts (MFA). He has shared his expertise as a professor at various universities over the years. Currently, he works as a full-time professor at UDEM, where he has taught classes in digital film production, while continuing independent documentary production. During the spring semester of 2024, he is serving as a Mexican visiting scholar sponsored by COMEXUS-Fulbright at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.

    Jorge Mendoza Yescas is a member of the Mexican foreign service. On March 5, 2019, he was appointed by the President of Mexico as Consul General of Mexico in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to his appointment as Consul General in Phoenix, Consul Mendoza served as Consul for Legal Affairs and Documentation at the Consulate General of Mexico in Vancouver, British Columbia (2015-2019), Vice Consul for Administration at the Consulate of Mexico in Presidio, Texas (2013-2015), Consular Officer of the Department of Protection at the Consulate of Mexico in Tucson (2004-2013).

    He has contributed to various print and digital media sources in Mexico and the United States on migration, binational issues, and US politics. Consul General Mendoza earned a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Sul Ross State University in Texas and a Law Degree from the University of Sonora.
