Mr. Irani practices criminal law in New Jersey Municipal, Superior and Appellate courts. Specifically, Mr. Irani focuses on representing clients in cases involving sex crimes, drug/narcotic charges, firearm cases, juvenile matters, shoplifting, civilian complaints and traffic tickets. Additionally, Mr. Irani has successfully represented numerous clients in domestic violence disputes, including Temporary/Final Restraining Order trials and mediations. Mr. Irani’s experience with criminal law was refined during his tenure as law clerk to the Honorable Sohail Mohammed, P.J.Cr. of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic Vicinage.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Irani was a civil litigator at a Morris County law firm where he represented plaintiffs in a wide range of matters, including Federal and State civil rights litigation, personal injury matters, Landlord/Tenant disputes, Workers’ Compensation claims and also defended companies in asbestos litigation.
Mr. Irani received his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he was a published member of the Seton Hall Law Legislative Journal. During law school, Mr. Irani completed a judicial externship with the Honorable James J. Deluca, J.S.C. of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen Vicinage. Mr. Irani also worked as a law clerk at Piro, Zinna, Cifelli, Paris & Genitempo, LLC, where he drafted discovery-related motions in wrongful death suits, wrote briefs pertaining to employment discrimination under the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and prepared mediation statements for pending suits regarding the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. Mr. Irani was also elected to various executive committees and served as a student liaison for the law school’s admissions committee.
Prior to law school, Mr. Irani received his B.A. in Political Science and earned a double minor in History and Middle Eastern studies from Seton Hall University.
Mr. Irani is fluent in Persian/Farsi.
