The Oak Project is a partnership project of the national charity Friends, Families and Travellers(FFT), aimed at working alongside social housing providers and the accommodation needs of Gypsy and Traveller people.


Through their partnership with the National Policy Advisory Panel on Gypsy and Traveller Housing and with Housing Diversity Network, the Oak Project offer a range of services to support Social Housing Providers to constructively engage with site provision.


We are delivering this webinar to answer questions Registered Social Landlords might have regarding the planning and maintenance of Gypsy and Traveller sites.


Speakers joining the session will be Barry Winchester- Co-ordinator of the Oak Project, Professor Jo Richardson- Professor of Housing and Social Inclusion and Associate Dean (Research) based in Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University,and Dr Simon Ruston MRTPI- a Chartered Town Planner with significant knowledge and skills regarding planning issues for Gypsies and Travellers. Simon authored the report "Kicking the can down the road: The planning and provision of Gypsy and Traveller sites in England 1960-2023" for FFT in November 2023.
