Date: Thursday, 29 August 2024

Topic: How Learning Abacus Builds Preschoolers' Numeracy Skills

Time: 8 to 9 pm (Singapore Time)

Learning abacus enhances preschoolers' numeracy skills through the CPA (Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract) approach. This method helps children grasp concepts like place value, simple addition and subtraction, and number bonds by manipulating beads. It also improves subitizing, regrouping, and visualisation skills, leading to better mental arithmetic and working memory. This approach provides a solid foundation in numeracy, making abstract concepts more accessible and fostering overall cognitive development.

We are delighted to invite Ms. Joy Tay, Founder of Fun with Abacus to share the topic with our fellow EC fraternity on "How Learning Abacus Builds Preschoolers' Numeracy Skills".
