BritCham Ministerial Series with Mochamad Ridwan Kamil, Governor of West Java

Ridwan Kamil is a highly respected architect in the literal sense and has been the architect of his own prolific rise in the political arena. He was elected Mayor of Bandung in June 2013. During a 5-year tenure, his passion and vision of a smarter city, a well-educated and culturally proud population drove many positive changes.

In September 2018, he was elected Governor of West Java, the largest province of Indonesia by population, 48 million+.

Ridwan has a very positive disposition to the UK and he is very mindful and respectful of the role that the British community in Indonesia and British business in the UK can play in supporting a new and expanded vision for the development of West Java.
