Ambassador Massimo brings over 20 years of diplomatic experience within European and international institutions. Since September 2024, he has served as Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Philippines. Prior to his current role, he previously held senior roles at the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU, specializing in policy coordination, human rights, and crisis management. He also served as Political Adviser to the EU Special Representative for the crisis in Georgia and Deputy Head of Mission at the Italian Embassy in Belarus. Ambassador Massimo holds a Degree in Law, specializing in International Studies, from the University of Florence, and completed a Master Course in Diplomatic Studies at SIOI – the Italian Society for International Organization in Rome.
