Theme
The 2020 APABI Biennial Meeting and Conference will be held in the Philippines on 27-29 February 2020. It will be hosted and organized by the Bankers Institute of the Philippines (BAIPHIL).
The theme of the Conference, Collaboration for Digital Transformation, is a timely reminder for member states that the road to bring the financial sector into the digital realm and reap its benefits is through effective collaboration of all its players. Topics on Top Banking Trends, Bank Training and Education Challenges for the Next Five Years, Digital Transformation Programs, FinTech and Banking Regulations, among others, are being lined up for the Conference.
Venue and Resort Accommodations
The Meeting and Conference will be held at South Palms Resort Panglao (Panglao, Bohol, Philippines). The Conference participants can enjoy the tropical white beach resort setting lined with palm trees under blue skies and balmy February weather. Bohol Island is located in central Philippines and can be conveniently reached by air and boat. It is approximately an hour and fifteen minutes of connecting flight from Manila, or a five hour direct flight from South Korea.
For travel and accommodation arrangements, delegates may contact Ms. Trisha Castelo (prcastelo@baiphil.org) or Mr. Bernie Cual (cual.benvenardo@baiphil.org) to confirm their attendance, hotel reservations and other concerns on or before December 6, 2019.
Costs
APABI does not impose membership fee and as such, the tradition is that members take on the responsibility of hosting and organizing its meetings and conferences on a rotating basis. BAIPHIL, as this upcoming conference's host, will be able to cover conference venue, meals during the days of the conference proper, conference kits, group tour (for the delegates and accompanying guests), and accommodation costs for member states' one official delegate (sharing room with spouse, or one companion) at the South Palms Resort Panglao.
BAIPHIL has likewise arranged a whole day Eco-Tourism Bohol Trip/River Cruise on 29 February free for all the delegates and companions.
Official representatives from member states are welcome and encouraged to bring along additional delegates and observers from non-APABI countries. Delegates can arrive several days ahead or extend their stay after the Conference. Any additional days of stay before and after the Conference, and personal tours may be arranged with the assistance of BAIPHIL staff but will be for the account of the delegates.
