Through our VTCRC 360°: Corporate Wellness Program we hope to continue to provide our companies with a variety of healthy options for meals for their employees in and around the research park.

Eligibility, Rules, Requirements

Weekly occurring Thursday's from April 2 – October 29, 2020 & Tuesdays April, May and June


Mobile Food Vendors shall be operational between the hours of 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. as late as 3:00 p.m. or until food runs out. on Thursdays of each week per a predetermined schedule. Trucks must be in place prior to 11:30 a.m. to limit the potential for pedestrian accidents.

  • Written permission from the VTCRC allowing the Vendor to operate. No Vendor will be allowed to set up without express written permission from the VTCRC.
  • Town of Blacksburg Mobile Food Vendor License and any other applicable federal, state, and/or local licenses and meals tax forms required for operation.
  • Mobile Food Vendors shall be operational between the hours of 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. as late as 3:00 p.m. or until food runs out, on Thursdays of each week beginning April 2, 2020 and ending October 29, 2020 per a predetermined schedule. Trucks must be in place prior to 11:30 a.m. to limit the potential for pedestrian accidents. A strict calendar for marketing and logistics reasons will be followed and unscheduled trucks will not be permitted. Thursday is the only day of the food truck program; setting up on additional days on VTCRC property will not be allowed.
  • Verification of compliance with Virginia Health Department (VHD) regulations and inspections and liability insurance requirements. To show proof of these requirements, our legal department and insurance carrier require the VTCRC to obtain copies of your Health Department Mobile permit and a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the VTCRC as an additional insured. Each year, or upon expiration of your VHD permit or COI, you will need to resubmit updated valid copies of each to remain a vendor at the VTCRC. Copies of your VHD permit and COI must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the food truck's first scheduled day.
  • Connecting to VTCRC utilities shall not be permitted.
  • Vendors shall not be permitted to sell anything other than food and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • The VTCRC is not responsible for any Vendor or truck that fails to be compliant with applicable licenses, taxes, and VHD regulations. 
  • Vendor shall indemnify and hold harmless VTCRC and its employees, officers, agents, designees, and assigns from any claims of liability or loss from personal injury or property damages resulting from or caused by Vendor's acts or omissions.
  • Mobile Food Vendors shall be positioned on pavement, not soil, with room to allow patrons access to parking spaces. Patrons should be able to walk up for service without crossing grass.
