We have planned a special evening for our members

  • First, attend the 3rd Annual General Meeting of the Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong Limited at 5:00pm to find out what we have been doing and what is in the plan for the coming years.
  • Next, stay with us at 6:00pm for an enlightening session with two budding environmental practitioners. Learn about their career paths and what drives them to stay and excel in the environmental profession.
  • Finally, enjoy a delicious 3-course networking dinner with us at the Faculty Lounge of the City University of Hong Kong.


5:00 PM Part I: Annual General Meeting (AGM) of EMAHK Limited

You are invited to attend the 3rd AGM of EMAHK Ltd. The agenda is as follows:

  1. Receive the minutes of the last Annual General Meeting
  2. Receive the Chair's annual report
  3. Receive and adopt the Financial Statement of the Treasurer and Auditor's report
  4. Confirm the members of the Board for the next term
  5. Confirm the reappointment of the association's auditor

6:00 PM Part II: Sharing by Ms. Karina Chow and Ms. Natalie Chung

Natalie and Karina are both young environmental practitioners in today's Hong Kong. We are delighted to have them join the stage and share their journey as changemakers in this fast moving, ever changing society.


7:30 PM Part III: Networking Dinner

EMAHK Ltd. is taking this opportunity to organize a dinner for our members to network with old friends, and make some new friends. To confirm your committed attendance and avoid food wastage, we require a payment of $100 to secure the seat for the dinner. Members are welcomed to bring a friend to join the dinner at the full price of $380.

Fee:

Attendance to the sharing and AGM are free.

The fee for the dinner is $100 for members and $380 for non-members (must be accompanied by a member).


CPD: 1 CPD hour will be awarded for members who attend the sharing. The certificate will be sent by email after the event. Non-members will not be issued any CPD certificates.


Notes:

  1. No refund is provided unless the event is cancelled by EMAHK Ltd.
  2. A QR code for entrance to the City University of Hong Kong will be sent through the Facilities Management Office one day prior to the event (i.e. 25 August 2023).
  3. Personal data provided will be used solely for the purpose of event registration and membership management, and will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy of EMAHK Ltd.

Karina's sharing is titled "Explorations of a Budding Sustainability Professional" while Natalie will share with us "From Antarctica to Asia: Reimagining a Sustainable Blue Economy for Carbon Neutrality".

    Karina Chow

    Climate and Sustainability Consultant, COP27 Delegate at Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd.

    Karina Chow holds a BSc of Environmental Management and Technology from HKUST. Her interdisciplinary background helped her build cross-sector knowledge on green buildings, green business, green finance and environmental policy.

    Upon graduation, she was a researcher at the environmental policy think tank Civic Exchange with a focus on building sector decarbonisation in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. She also researched on green and sustainable finance policies and taxonomies, exploring how to leverage sustainable finance to accelerate decarbonization activities. She attended COP27 in Egypt as a Hong Kong delegate and has shared her insights and reflections to Hong Kong’s business community from the perspective of a young sustainability professional.

    Karina is now an Assistant Consultant at Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd, continuing her sustainability profession in the climate and carbon aspects of the built environment.

    Key Opinion Ambassador at Dr. Sylvia Earle Antarctic Climate Expedition 2023

    Natalie Chung is a climate advocate and social entrepreneur, recognised by The Japan Times and Eco-Business as one of the most impactful youth climate leaders driving change in Asia.

    At the age of 18, she co-founded V’air, a social enterprise which promotes sustainable tourism as a means to mitigate climate change. At the policy level, Natalie is committed to advancing carbon neutrality in Hong Kong and mainland China. She has been appointed to serve at the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development and Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee of the Hong Kong Government.

    Natalie holds an MPhil in Environmental Change and Management at University of Oxford as the Esther Yewpick Lee Millennium Scholar, and a Bachelor of Social Science in Geography and Resource Management. She was elected as the only Hong Kong representative at the Dr Sylvia Earle Antarctic Climate Expedition 2023, advocating for climate policies at the intersection of ocean conservation alongside 110 renowned marine biologists, climate researchers and policymakers.
