Dear Fellow Auscham Members,
As we prepare for the 2023 AusCham AGM (details below), I want to provide you with an explanation of our process this year. I, speaking for the entire AusCham Committee, hope you will participate.
For many years we have encouraged more female participation in our annual Committee elections and, frankly speaking, we have not had the results we think are important as we continue to align our organizational values with those of the Australian Embassy.
At this year's AGM, we will prioritise our goal to elect more women to our Committee. We will elect a minimum of three women who have the highest number of votes, followed by the next seven nominees with the most votes, irrespective of gender.
We encourage anyone interested in joining the AusCham Committee to fill out the attached nomination form and return it to us, at the email address on the nomination form, no later than noon on the 15th of October. And, we encourage each of you to actively encourage qualified individuals to allow their names to be put forward for consideration. Nominations may only be made by current (as of 5 September) AusCham members in good standing. All nominees must be members in good standing by noon on 15 October 2023.
Included in this email is a nomination form you can use for nominations, along with a document outlining general Committee responsibilities.
We will send a full package of information, including a ballot for voting on nominees, to all members no later than 29 October.
