Celebrating 20+ Years of Economic Development Training and Education
The Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course (MSBEDC) equips professionals with the training and education needed to successfully launch or advance a career in economic development. This year, AEDCE is hosting the 21st MSBEDC and looks forward to continuing the tradition of serving economic developers in the Mid-South region.
While some Basic Economic Development Courses have moved to an online format, we believe that in-person interaction and networking with your peers and speakers is critical to maximizing the potential of the MSBEDC 2023. There is not a virtual option for this event.
The Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course (MSBEDC) focuses on the fundamental concepts, tools and skills needed to be successful in today's economic, business and political environment. The MSBEDC offers a general survey of community and economic development by focusing primarily on strategies and practices. It is an intensive introduction to the fundamentals of economic development that prepares participants to help their communities meet the competitive challenges they face in fostering economic advancement.
More than ever, leaders must be prepared to help their communities meet these challenges: to capitalize on new developments, to turn potential obstacles into opportunities and to enhance the quality of life for those who live, visit and invest in the area. The Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course provides this preparation. For those new to the profession, the MSBEDC is the first step toward professional certification.
Please see the information below regarding details about the course and how to register. If you need more information or have questions, please contact Candice Lawrence at candice@aedce.org or 501.210.4205.
