Membership Status: Are You in Good Standing?
It's essential to understand what you need to do if you're considering running for office or if you plan to vote. This article outlines the qualifications for office, who qualifies as a member in good standing, and the immediate next steps to ensure your voice is heard in our Chapter's future.
Qualifications for Office
To run for an office in JCI Philippine-New York, you must meet the following criteria:
Regular Membership: Only regular members in good standing are eligible for election to any office.
Who Are Considered Members in Good Standing?
To be eligible to vote or run for office, members must be in good standing. The criteria for this status include:
Age Requirement: Members must be between the ages of 18-40 years old (with an age limitation of 18-39 years old, in accordance with JCI USA and JCI New York State By-Laws).
Dues and Participation: Members must have their membership dues paid and must have attended at least three (3) General Membership Meetings and/or participated in projects during the preceding twelve months. This must be certified by the project chairperson, with at least one of these meetings being a General Membership Meeting.

Voting Period
Voting will be open for a limited time to ensure a smooth flow. Members in good standing are encouraged to vote within this time frame.
8:00 PM - 8:25 PM:
Ballot Counting
Ballots will be collected and counted immediately after the voting period by the Election Committee. The counting process will be transparent, with observers allowed to watch.
8:25 PM - 8:30 PM:
Announcement of Results
The results will be announced by Election Committee Chairperson Richard Aguinaldo after the counting is completed and verified.
