Wouter was born and raised in Senekal, Free State. He acquired a National Diploma in Agriculture at the Potchefstroom Agricultural College after completing school. Followed by a National Diploma in Property Valuation through Unisa.

He began his professional journey as an Agricultural Economic Specialist at Land Bank in Vryheid in 1990.

Wouter later transferred to Heidelberg, Gauteng, in 1995, where he continued until 2002. Transitioning roles, he served as a Credit Manager for Saadchem from 2002 to 2004. Subsequently, he shifted to become a Property Valuer at Absa Bank from 2004 to 2008 and continued in the same capacity at Spectrum from 2008 to 2010. Currently, he works as a Property Valuer at Tetragon Valuers, a position he has held since 2010.

Wouter lives on a farm outside Heidelberg and farms with dry land agronomy and livestock farming.

Carlize Knoesen is the first woman in the history of South Africa appointed to the position of Chief Registrar of Deeds. The Deeds Registration aims to provide a world - class and secure land registration system and strives to provide security of title through the registration of real rights in land for all property owners. She is also a Deputy Director General in the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development and as such must give strategic input in the country’s policies and legislation relating to all land matters.
As the Chief Registrar of Deeds, she is responsible for transformative and strategic management of the Branch: Deeds Registration which includes eleven Deeds registries across the country, the Deeds ICT system, Litigation matters, Legislation, uniform application of Deeds practice and procedure and Deeds training of officials from RSA and its neighbouring countries Registries. Carlize is also the chairperson of the Sectional Title and Deeds Registries Regulatory boards with power to make regulations on Deeds registration legislation.

She is responsible to ensure the Deeds Trading Account is managed within the Public Finance management framework as the Branch does not receive any Government budget allocation and all salaries and expenses are paid from service delivery fees generated. Under her leadership and with the support of the service delivery and corporate support services within the Office of the Chief Registrar of Deeds, the Branch received five consecutive clean audits for the years 2016 to 2021. Appointed as a transformation change agent, she oversees the Deeds Registration digital transformation process, whose key target it the roll out of an Electronic Deeds Registration system (EDRs) for South Africa by 2022. Ms Knoesen brings to this position a well – established 39-year background in deeds registration. She started her career as a Deeds Controller in 1985, was transferred to Justice College as a law lecturer whilst she was also writing the South African Deeds Registration Practice Manual completed in 1996. Thereafter she worked in the office of the Chief Registrar of Deeds before she was appointed as the Registrar of Deeds: Bloemfontein in the Free State province of South Africa in 2002. It was the first time that a female became a Registrar of Deeds. In 2014 she was promoted to Chief Registrar of Deeds. Carlize holds a National Diploma in Deeds Registration from the University of South Africa. She is also the holder of a Baccalaureus Iuris and Baccalaureus Legum Degrees from the University of Pretoria.

Mr. Karabelo Pooe is the General Manager for the National Association Of Social Housing Organisation (NASHO). NASHO is a voluntary member-based association of Social Housing Institutions, private delivery agents, Municipal Owned Entities and support organisations.

With a steadfast commitment to fostering a robust and sustainable Social Housing sector in South Africa, NASHO diligently pursues its primary objectives through dedicated research, advocacy, and capacity development initiatives.

Drawing from a rich professional background, Mr. Pooe has held pivotal real estate positions, notably as Executive overseeing New Developments and Investments at a leading Social Housing Institution in Johannesburg. Additionally, he has showcased entrepreneurial flair as the Founder and Owner of a property rental and management enterprise.

Mr. Pooe's multifaceted background and unwavering dedication to advancing the Social Housing landscape in South Africa position him as a dynamic and influential voice within the industry.

Ben Espach is a Professional Valuer and the Director of Valuations, Rates Watch (Pty) Ltd. Previously he was a director with CS Massel Valuation Services where he was mainly involved with mass valuation and the implementation of the Municipal Property Rates Act. He has been with the Property Valuation Subsection of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Council for 26 years, holding various positions including Valuation Officer, Chief Valuer and Deputy Director.

Ben obtained a BSc degree from the University of Pretoria and a National Diploma in Property Valuation from the Technikon RSA.

He is a member of the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV) and he was elevated to a Fellow of the Institute during 2003. In 2013 he was elevated to a Life Member of the SAIV. Ben is also a past chairman of the Northern Branch and past president of the Institute. He served on the National Executive from 1997 to 2013.

As a member of the MPRA committee of the SAIV he was involved in the development and commenting on the MPRA from 1997 to 2013. He submitted comprehensive comments on the 2015 amendments and the draft standards that were developed by the South African Council for the Property Valuers Profession.

He presented numerous papers on the MPRA at seminars and workshops organised by the SAIV, SAPOA, ATI and IPTI.

Rates Watch is the only company in South Africa that is dedicated to the lodging of objections and appeals against entries in valuation rolls of municipalities. As valuer Ben is involved in the preparation of objections and he has appeared as an expert witness before Valuation Appeal Boards. He has been consulted widely on these matters and he has also prepared comments on rates policies of municipalities and the proposed changes to the Municipal Property Rates Act.
He was appointed as the valuer member of the valuation appeal board for the City of Ekurhuleni in 2018.

Ben is co-author of Practical Guide on Municipal Property Rates which was published in 2022.

Lourens serves as the Managing Director and Founding Partner of UNIQUECO Property Valuers. He holds several leadership roles within SARWA and held the presidency role from 2021 to 2022. And is a member of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).

Lourens hold a National Diploma in Real Estate Economical Science – Valuation, he is a Professional Valuer with 29 years’ experience, including 19 years in Executive Directorate & Management roles. He has also pursued additional education in Pastoral Narrative Therapy from the University of Pretoria.

Lourens is actively involved in various industry organizations, including SA Institute of Valuers (SAIV), Chartered Institute of Government Finance Audit & Risk Officers (CIGFARO) as well as the Franchise Association of South Africa as a Franchisor for UNIQUECO.

Lourens' specialist expertise spans a wide range of areas, including Mass Appraisal for Municipal Rates & Taxes, Investment Property, Right of Way Servitude Valuation for Land Acquisition & Expropriation, Insurance Replacement Valuations, Portfolio Valuations, Leisure & Development, and Valuation Software Development through Afroval Software Consulting.

Jon Busser is a Town & Regional Planner in private practice and registered SACPLAN Professional Planner. He completed his honours degree and has been in the employ of Urban Dynamics since 1994 and was appointed as a Director on the Urban Dynamics board by 2000. In 2017 het obtained a Master’s Degree in Project Management (MPM) from the University of Pretoria.

Jon is the manager of the town planning department at Urban Dynamics and his responsibilities includes management of the Group's IT Infrastructure, Drawing Office and the representative director on the board of Urban Dynamics Land Surveyors. His principal focus is on the establishment of development rights for new land development areas and is regarded as a specialist in the fields of cost-effective layout design for subsidized housing projects, leisure and security estate developments and the management of large and complex in-situ upgrading projects. Her strong relationship with the International Council of Shopping Centres (ICSC) reflects in her service on the ICSC European Research Group, the ICSC North American Research Task Force, chair of the ICSC Sub-Saharan Africa Research Group & as a member of the ICSC Sub-Saharan Africa Board. Previously Associate Director & Head of Retail globally for IPD UK, based in London, Belinda was Head of Research at Old Mutual Property (OMP), informing both operational & fund investment strategies.

She was responsible for the conceptualization & development of OMP’s retail research capability, focused on strategic risk & income management of their unlisted retail property portfolio of some ZAR15 billion. She holds a Master’s degree in economics (cum laude).

Dianne de Wet is a Professional Valuer in private practice. She obtained the ND in Property Valuation and was appointed a director of the company that she worked for at that time. She has since read for an MBA from UKZN and graduated in 2020.

Dianne has been involved in property since 1993, serving as financial director of the Institute of Realtors from 1996 – 2001. She was appointed as a member of the Council for Property Valuers Profession in 2014 and is completing her second term.

She was appointed to the Audit and Risk Committee for the Valuer General’s Office in 2018 for a three year term, which has been extended by another 2 years.

She has served as a branch executive member of the SA Institute of Valuers in KZN since 2010. She was involved in the start of a Mentorship Programme for the SAIV in KZN, which has been rolled out to the rest of the country. Dianne currently serves as the SAIV President.

Willem Groenewald is the managing member of Landmark Planning. After graduating in 1993 with and honours degree from the University of Pretoria, he worked for EVS Town Planners for 5 years and thereafter managed Urban Perspectives Town & Regional Planners for a period of 10 years.

In 2009 Willem established a specialist town planning consultancy called Landmark Planning in Centurion. He is registered as a Professional Planner with SACPLAN and specializes in Strategic and Policy Planning, in Land Use and Development Control for a large variety of commercial, residential and mixed-use developments and on Urban Design for eco- and themed residential estates. His unique and personalized approach to hotel developments, convention centres, shopping centres and filling stations designates Willem as a specialist town and regional planner and land use management specialist.

Prominent successful projects completed by Willem include Irene Link, Forest Hill, Olievenhout Plaza, Mamelodi Square, Candlewoods Estate, Sheraton Hotel-Arcadia, Radisson Hotel-Middelburg and Euphoria Golf Estate.

Roshinee has obtained a B.Adm degree with Economics & Public Administration majors; the ND in Property Valuation; CEA; Certificates in Sugarcane Agriculture; Project Management; Monitoring and Evaluation and completed several courses that have assisted in the Industry and environment she works in. Also accredited as a Trainer and Assessor.

She joined the eThekwini Metro in 1988 and commenced her career in property valuations in June 1989. In mid-2006 she went into private practice, a sole member of (RNPC) Roshinee Naidoo Property Consultants cc. Since 2007, the bulk of her work was in the MPRA space at the KZN Department of Co-Operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA). Project Managing the implementation of the MPRA from 2007 until March 2018 in all KZN municipalities.

At the end of March 2018, she left KZN Cogta as the Deputy Director: Municipal Finance (MPRA) due to multiple Board and Committee appointments.

Roshinee was the first woman of colour to qualify and to be registered as a Professional Valuer in SA, a Sworn Appraiser appointed in terms of s6 (1) of the Administration of Estates Act. She has won several awards for her achievements. One such notable award was winning both the Regional and National title from the Women’s Property Network for being Professional of the Year: The Public Sector. Roshinee was also one of many advisors to the previous MEC: Local Government and Traditional Affairs (LGTA) on MPRA matters; served on Valuation Appeal Boards across KZN, served on the South African Institute of Valuers (SAIV), both at the National and KZN Branch Executive level for over 10 years, the former Vice Chair of the KZN Branch Executive in April 2013/April 2014. She was also part of the editorial Panel for the SA Valuer.

She is the immediate past Vice President of SACPVP. Whilst at SACPVP, she served two terms, 8 years in total, was Chairperson of the PR&M and Education and Standards Committee of SACPVP. Lectured to students at the SACPVP Work school and presented at Seminars on MPRA. She presented the MPRA Standards at the Afres Conference in Accra, Ghana in 2022.

She also served on the Local Government Sector & Training Authority (LGSETA) Accounting Authority, serving both in Fincom and Remco. She was appointed to the SSETA Real Estate and Related services Chamber (RERSC) and Chairperson of the Valuation Cluster.

Roshinee is currently the Chairperson of the VRAC (Valuation Review & Advisory Committee) of the Office of the Valuer General; recently appointed to the Women in AFRES Executive responsible for the Southern Region which comprise 10 countries and to the University of Free State (UFS) Academic Advisory Board (AAB).

Hjalmar holds a National Diploma in Property Valuation from Unisa, a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Informatics and an Honours degree in Property Finance and Management from the University of Johannesburg.

Currently serving as a National Executive member of the SAIV and professional valuer at Vencor, Hjalmar has been involved in the property industry for more than a decade.

Before focussing on developing his property valuation career, his entrepreneurial journey and knack for innovation were demonstrated through his roles as Co-Founder and CEO of various startups for close to a decade. These ventures allowed him to leverage his expertise in business strategy, operations management, and customer-centric solutions to create thriving businesses and make a tangible impact in the market. Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Hjalmar gained invaluable experience in supply chain management and key account management roles at Imperial Logistics, The South African Breweries, and Pick 'n Pay. These roles equipped him with a solid foundation in logistics, distribution, and client relations, which continue to inform his approach to business today.
