With over three decades of experience in administration, database management, and society administration, Joey’s expertise spans various industries.

During her 12-year tenure in the Health Care Industry, Joey recognised a crucial need for empowering healthcare professionals in managing their private practices. This realisation fueled her commitment to education and empowerment within the sector.

Known affectionately as the ‘make-it-happen girl,’ Joey is unwavering in her dedication to seeing tasks through to completion. Beyond her professional endeavors, she is deeply committed to nurturing dreams and empowering individuals to achieve their aspirations.

Joey’s commitment to environmental stewardship is evident through her involvement in greening and sustainability projects. She is dedicated to implementing eco-friendly practices within event management, ensuring that Take Note Events prioritises sustainability without compromising on excellence.

Joey’s multifaceted talents extend beyond event management, as she holds Diplomas in both Interior Design and Event Management. These credentials further enrich her ability to create unforgettable experiences that captivate and inspire.

Alongside her professional pursuits, Joey finds solace and fulfillment in music, particularly through her alter ego, Jojo the Jazzy Singer. Her performances exude charm, pizzazz, and an unmistakable passion for music.

Outside of work, Joey is a devoted mother to her adult son and daughter. She embraces an active lifestyle, finding joy in the ocean, reading, hiking, yoga, and embracing life’s adventures to the fullest.

Tasneem’s professional journey began when she graduated as an occupational therapist from the University of Cape Town in 2002. Through the years she has worked in a variety of settings from mental health, spinal cord injury, neuro rehabilitation, to special education. However, it was in mental health that she found her sense of purpose. She is currently practicing as an Occupational Therapist in private practice and strives to be a neurodiversity ally, providing education and awareness, support, therapy and coaching, to adults and teens who struggle with executive functioning and sensory regulation, with a special interest in ADHD. She is also a founding Director of the NPC, Jozi4Autism.

In addition to her work as an occupational therapist and coach, Tasneem is also the founder of the Private Practice Growth Club - a community-building, education and empowerment initiative, for South African health professionals in private practice. As the saying goes: “you can’t pour from an empty cup”, so Tasneem is passionate about helping South African health professionals develop the mindset and business skills needed to minimize the struggle and overwhelm of trying to grow a profitable private practice, whilst still making a positive impact on the wellness of others. She is an avid advocate for her profession and was appointed as the chairperson of the newly formed Private Practice Committee of the Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa from 2021 to 2023.

Tasneem is also a 2023 recipient of the globally recognized Woman of Wonder Awards in recognition of her contribution to the health and wellness industry.

Dr Danny Meyersfeld completed his PhD in Molecular Biology in 2005 at University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. Following two years of post-doctoral research, and passionate about the concept of personalised medicine, Danny set up DNAlysis Biotechnology, a company dedicated to the widespread adoption of genomic insights into clinical practice.

Basil Adriaanse is a clinician, publisher, lecturer, and healthcare marketer with over 13-years of experience in the healthcare sector. He has served on multiple boards from step down facilities to national allied health organisations. He has a demonstrated history in practice management, having founded a national multisite allied health practice and expanded it to a national physiotherapy-at-home service with the largest provider of hospital-at-home services in the country. Irene Zambelis has led The Institute of Health Risk Managers (Pty) Ltd since its inception in July 2004 to date. IHRM is an independent training company with a specific focus on the healthcare industry.

She has been facilitating, assessing and moderating the Wealth Management qualification Level 5, Medical Claims Assessing and Long-Term Risk Assessment qualifications, Level 4 since 2006, interacting with the financial planners specialising for healthcare brokers, as well as medical scheme fund managers and trustees, medical scheme administration and managed care staff. Petro-Lize Wessels is the Lead Consultant for Patient Blood Management and Transfusion Medicine at the South African National Blood Service. She joined the SANBS in 2011 after 18 years in clinical medicine - working across a broad field.
She holds a BMedSc – and MBCHB degree, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Transfusion Medicine – all from the University of the Free State.
She is responsible for medical support to, and medical oversight and - support to the Processing laboratories and blood banks in SANBS and is also responsible for driving the implementation of Patient Blood Management in South Africa on behalf of SANBS.
She serves on the AABB Standards Revision committee and the AABB PBM in Obstetrics scoping review working parties.
She is one of the co-authors and developers of the University of the Free State PBM short learning program for doctors – and provided inputs into the course developed for registered nurses.
She was co-author for an AABB textbook: Perspectives and practices in Global Transfusion – specifically the Obstetrics chapter and is currently working on an AABB textbook on education of healthcare professionals – specifically doctors’ training in LMICs countries.
She is currently part of the Sub-Saharan PBM steering committee.
