Empowering Community Leaders for Economic Development Excellence
The 23rd Mid-South Basic Economic Development Course (MSBEDC) is tailor-made for community leaders engaged in economic development across various scales – local, regional, state and federal. This inclusive program caters to a diverse array of participants, fostering collaboration among elected officials, government agency staff, planners, utility and transportation personnel, business leaders, real estate developers, community volunteers, educators and professionals from chambers of commerce or economic development organizations.

Refund Policy
Refunds for cancellation must be requested in writing. Cancellation requests received by March 15 will receive a full refund, less a $50 processing fee. Cancellation requests received from March 16 - March 27, 2025 will receive a refund of $250. Cancellation requests received after March 28, 2025 are not entitled to a refund.
Substitutions
Notice and completed registration forms must be received by March 31, 2025.
The MSBEDC is accredited by the International Economic Development Council, the nation's largest membership organization for economic developers. IEDC's mission is to provide leadership and excellence in economic development for communities and IEDC's members and partners to build economically strong, sustainable communities. The course serves as the equivalent of IEDC's "Introduction to Economic Development," and therefore may be applied toward requirements to sit for the Certified Economic Developers (CEcD) exam.
