We have to identify and treat people affected by HIV as well as make universally available means for preventing transmission to stop all transmission. We will assess the feasibility of this grand undertaking and explore our roles as care providers.
1. Introduce to providers a population/subculture that is poorly understood by the medical care community at large. 2. Provide insight to help providers address common and unique medical issues that veterans deal with. 3. Improve the ability of providers to connect and communicate with the veteran population.
