The Coronavirus crisis has led investment managers to consider new approaches to overcome the operational challenges they are likely to be facing in the long-term.

With these challenges aside, on a macro view, the global PE industry is looking good with a record number of funds raised during this quarter. PE funds also have strong projections for their long-term annual returns. Preqin's data shows that investors' confidence in making alternative investments during this period is strong and remains at the same level for their future alternative investments strategy.

When it comes to emerging markets like Myanmar, the situation could be similar for PE fundraising and deal-making. During this year, the country saw some early stage as well as growth-stage deals being closed up to the third quarter. There could also be a good chance that the funds closed during this quarter had secured commitments prior to the pandemic.

With all these PE/VC deals happening in Myanmar during the pandemic ridden year, how are the investment managers in Myanmar operating for the deals poised to be closed in the near term? What has been the evolution of the new form of virtual due diligence taking place in the country? What is their investment strategy in Myanmar at this time to raking in what could become one of the profitable PE deals in Myanmar? How are the opportunities for larger size PE deals in Myanmar? Are PE fund managers in Myanmar rethinking the way of doing business? What are the ways to look into an outbound investment opportunity at this time?

Two of the leading investment firms in Myanmar actively making investments during this year will be discussing their investment practice in the age of COVID.
