The Events Committee welcomes you to join us for lots of fun and laughs as we assemble the Alliance's best and brightest to face off against each other in this classic TV game show. It will be a virtual event resembling the real game, facilitated by a third party who specializes in virtual events.


Overview:

The game begins with all participants in one main Zoom room. On the screen, the host will display the "big board" that you see on TV and pose a question to everyone (i.e. what is the first thing you do when you come home from work?). At that point, they will move us into small breakout rooms based on the teams to which each person is assigned. Each team will then have a few minutes to compile the top five answers to the question. A team leader will then submit their team's answers via the chat function in Zoom to the host. We will then all be brought back to the main room and just like the actual game, the host will reveal the top answers to that particular question. Concurrently, behind the scenes, their staff will tabulate each team's answers to determine who won that round, which will then be shared by the host.


We will continue with this format for several more rounds. After about an hour the host will reveal the top two (2) teams, who will then advance to the championship round.

Action Items:

  1. The first step is to determine who is interested in participating. The event will take place on Thursday, 3/11 from 5:30 – 6:45. Please RSVP so we have an accurate count of attendees.
  2. After we determine who is interested in participating, we will circulate the list to those who registered should anyone like to create their own team (teams will be comprised of between 4-6 people depending on the number of participants). If you would rather be randomly assigned to a team – no worries, we will take care of that.


It really will be a fun event and another way to deepen the bonds and relationships we share with one another. A grand prize will be awarded to the winning team, so think about who amongst your fellow Mensa members would be good teammates. And, as always, feel free to have a cocktail in hand.
